Step 2: Create Your New Mexico Divorce Documents or Custody Agreement

After you have collected all necessary information using our Divorce Intake Form (and if you have children, our Child Custody Intake Form), you are ready to begin creating your divorce documents or custody agreement. To start your process, visit Start Your Process and select the appropriate option for your situation. Registration is free – you pay nothing until you are ready to print and file your court-ready forms.

After selecting the appropriate option, you will be guided to our interactive online questionnaire. This questionnaire is designed to walk you through a series questions required for completing your divorce documents or custody agreement. If you see a (?) next to a question, you may ‘click-on’ the icon to view additional instructions meant to assist you in forming your response. (Further instructions are provided at the beginning of the online interview process.)

During the online questionnaire process, you may save your work at any time and return at a later time to continue the online questionnaire process. You do not need to complete the entire questionnaire all at one time. Should you have any questions about the online interview or are uncertain as to how you should respond to a specific question, you may schedule a free 15-minute consultation with one of our experienced attorneys.

After you have completed the online questionnaire, you will be prompted to click-on a Submit button to create your divorce documents or custody agreement. This button will not appear until there is a green check-mark next to each section of the online interview, indicating that corresponding section is completed. You will then be able to review all documents that need to be submitted and filed with the court.

On your own. But not alone.

Complete your divorce documents or custody agreement online for as little as $195.

There is no law in New Mexico that says a person must hire a lawyer to get a divorce. For many people, it makes sense to hire a lawyer, but for others, doing it themselves is a realistic option. At DivorceNM.com, we make it easy for you to prepare your divorce documents and file them with the court. Just follow the steps and instructions provided.
